Education & Degrees
In 1985 I earned a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina and in 1970 a History degree from Converse College. Along with The Highlands Ability Battery, I am certified to interpret Level B psychological instruments such as interest and personality inventories.

Experience
For over 20 years I’ve had a private practice in personal and career counseling services as well as employee assistance programs. Already trained in career testing, I added the Highlands Ability Battery to my assessment package twelve years ago. I’ve designed and led professional development programs and presented to over forty-five organizations, including IBM, Michelin, Liberty Corporation, Greenville Technical College, Furman University, and the Greenville Hospital System. In the 1980s I was a regular columnist for both The Greenville News Poinsett Register as well as the Greenville Tech Career Advancement Center newsletter.

Focus
To love one’s work is in many ways to love one’s life. After completing career testing of my own, I began a career in clinical social work which has added to a sense of meaning and purpose in my life. Trained as a psychotherapist I have been able to help my clients improve their level of functioning, but I wanted to go further. I wanted to help people find their own meaning and purpose, so I pursued additional training and licensure as a career counselor. My specialty practice focuses on enabling clients to develop their potential, both personally and professionally.

Strengths
Besides the fact that I have great energy and enthusiasm for my work, I have developed a comprehensive assessment package, possess the analytical skills to interpret the tests, and the interpretive skills to explain the results to the my clients.

Clients
My clients are students selecting a course of study, young adults determining a career choice, and adults considering a career change. I also work with clients who have already made a career choice, but who would like assistance in achieving their optimal performance or those who would like to overcome problems specific to the workplace.
