Experience
I write and speak about career development/job search strategies. I spent 15 years working in corporate HR jobs and worked my way up to VP. Now I'm an independent consultant helping organizations develop and implement people strategies.
Focus
I've been working on my own career for 20 years, and coaching others for nearly as long. Whether you are looking for a new position or you want to grow in your current position, my hope is to encourage you every day to have the best career possible.
I enjoy using the Highlands Abilities Assessment with adults who are seeking to maximize their talents either in their current job or through a career change; and with High School and College students who are making decisions about college majors and careers.
Strengths
My strengths are in understanding, analyzing, planning and encouraging. I love to help clients translate their abilities, interests, skills and values into practical action steps that help them enjoy their careers and lives more.
Clients
My clients include corporate managers and employees, and college/high school students.
Statements & Testimonials
"Immediately after graduating from college I felt like I burst into an important transitional phase with little or no warning. When the opportunity to take the Highland's Assessment Test presented itself I viewed it as another in the succession of inanimate tools and devices designed to somehow determine the perfect vocation for a certain individual. I was wrong. The Highlands method encompassed every aspect of me as a person. The training process gave me real data about myself which Peggy then helped me understand and connect with my personal goals and skills. I used the results to help me make decisions about graduate education that matches my learning style and future goals. I also use the knowledge I gained from Highland's every day. Highland's has taught me more about myself, given me more confidence, and allowed me to truly access my strengths. "

"I am an HR Manager at a small company. I decided to take the Highlands Ability Battery because I was bored and felt like I spinning my wheels and going nowhere in my career. I have always been sort of a self-assessment junkie and have taken literally dozens of assessments to try and figure out what I might be good at. Highlands was the first assessment I have taken where the results felt "real" – they weren´t based on my feelings or my opinions, but on what I could actually do compared to other people. Peggy was able to use the results to help me understand why I feel the way I do about my work and come up with some practical steps to energize my career again." MB, HR Manager
"Going through the assessment process with Peggy helped me recognize patterns that I noticed about myself, but didn’t understand and couldn’t explain. Not only did Peggy help me understand them, but she tied them to my abilities and my needs, and what these mean for my future career."
JB - College Freshman
"The assessment process is fascinating and produces a lot of helpful insights about needs and abilities. Peggy did a great job explaining the results of the assessment to my daughter, and helping her see - with real-life anecdotes and examples - what they mean for her career choices and her ultimate career satisfaction. I particularly appreciated her advice on how to navigate professional - and life -choices by balancing an understanding of abilities and strengths with one’s values; this gave my daughter a solid framework from which to deal with all the many options she’ll be presented with as a college student. Very valuable!" AB - Mom of JB, a College Freshman
